Kathryn Nicholas, Sculpture Artist

I am committed to capturing the spirit, and realistic likeness of each animal I sculpt. I am fascinated by animals, and welcome every order as a unique opportunity to get to know the true personality of each pet. Each piece I create is a one of a kind original of your pet from your original photographs. I’ve been sculpting animals of all types and kinds since 2004 when a grouping of dogs that I had sculpted debuted to rave reviews in Richmond, VA.
Having had the great fortune to share my life with pets over the last 30 years, I fully understand how devastating the loss of one can be. Pets are family members; cherished, never forgotten. I welcome stories shared of any pet,and am happy to offer what I have learned over the years, in helping to heal after the pain of loss. To set off your special work of art, I can also include beautifully engraved brass plaques, tacked prominently on the front or side of the wooden base, providing a finished look that honors a pet whose life on earth has ended, but whose memory remains.
Invitations for Silent Auctions are always accepted, and My Pet Sculptures has donated sculpture services to the following causes and organizations: the Medical College of Virginia, the Maymont
Foundation, the SPCA’s annual “Fur Ball”, Fetch-A-Cure, Best Friends Animal Society, and Make-A-Wish radio-thon, where My Pet Sculpture gift certificates brought in almost $300 through the winning bid. Other contributions include: the Math Science Innovation Center for Advancing Educational Tools to students, and also to Save Our Shelters (SOS) Pen Pal organization, which creates a unique opportunity for inmates in correctional facilities to care for and train shelter dogs, so that the pets can later be adopted as pets or service animals.
Although mostly commissioned, My Pet Sculptures are shown throughout Virginia in gift shops and several art galleries. In September 2007, My Pet Sculpture appeared in a local arts and news magazine and, more recently in a Texas-based publication called Network magazine.
My Pet Sculpture provides an artistic, very realistic replica of any pet and at the lowest cost available. I am dedicated to the love of pets, and to the precious souls I so love sculpting and after nine years my fascination with this form of sculpture continues to grow!
